What kind of freak reads the dictionary with a highlighter so she can highlight her favorite words? (Hint: you’re reading her blog right this minute.)

Confession: I go through the thesaurus in search of words that set the mood for whatever I’m working on. Then I write them down on post its and stick them all around the house. It keeps me motivated.

That’s an awesome idea, Brie. Never did it cross my mind to use sticky-notes…and it just so happens that I bought a brand new pack last night. :D

I think those are great ideas to keep track of favourite words. :-D

Thanks for stopping by and commenting David.

I like to learn new foreign words and phrases as well. My dictionary even has a section in the back dedicated to the most oft used foreign expressions ranging from Latin to French to Spanish and a few languages in between. Definitely great for adding some spice.

The only word of caution I would give is to make sure it’s a fairly commen phrase lest it pass over general understanding, or make sure to provide plenty of context clues.
